MEA Announces 2020 District Seat Board Candidates

Palmer, AK – MEA is holding annual elections for its member elected Board of Directors this Spring. There are two District Board Seats up for election in 2020: Susitna West and Susitna East. The following candidates for the 2020 MEA District Seat Board Election include:

Susitna West (represents areas of KGB, Big Lake, Houston, Willow, Talkeetna & Trapper Creek)

Bill Kendig (Incumbent)
Randall D. Kowalke
Molly Wood

Susitna East (represents the Wasilla area)

Robert Doyle (Incumbent)

Only members residing within the district seat boundaries can vote for candidates running for that specific district. All MEA members will be voting on bylaw changes and an advisory vote on a bylaw review in the 2020 membership election. Election ballots will be provided to members by mail at the end of March. Members can also vote electronically through their SmartHub account instead of by mail, or at the annual membership meeting.

Save the Date for the 2020 Annual Membership Meeting

The 2020 MEA Annual Membership Meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at the Curtis D. Menard Center in Wasilla, and is open to all MEA members to attend. Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. and the meeting will start at 6:00 p.m. Members who register at the annual meeting will receive a $10 bill credit. There will also be an opportunity for attendees to provide public comments, win prizes, and talk with different MEA departments and energy related organizations. Light refreshments will be provided.
