MEA has launched an early access program for Electric Vehicle (EV) owners, offering a time-of-use rate plan designed to promote charging during off-peak hours. This program offers MEA members discounted electricity rates for charging electric vehicles during off-peak hours from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily. This initiative aims to reduce strain on the grid and help members save on energy costs by shifting their EV charging to times when overall electricity demand is lower.

To qualify, participants must be MEA members and provide proof of EV ownership. This early access opportunity is limited to the first 50 qualified applicants, subject to the availability of necessary equipment, meters, and materials. A broader rollout of the program is planned for summer 2025, when additional meters and equipment are expected to become available.
