2025 Capital Improvement Projects

MEA’s Board of Directors approved the cooperative's 2025 budget which includes a dozen capital power improvement and maintenance projects aimed at increasing reliability for our co-op members. The 2025 capital improvement projects include completion of the Lucas Substation serving Palmer, design and permitting for the new Meadow Lakes Substation (construction scheduled for 2026), line rebuilds in Goat Creek, Big Lake, Nancy Lake, Sutton, and E Knik River Road, and underground cable replacements in the Teklanika Drive area of Eagle River.
