Regulatory Commission of Alaska Approves Chugach Electric Association’s 42% Base Cost Increase to »Over Matanuska Electric Association’s strong objections, on February 6 the Regulatory Commission of Alaska approved a 42% interim increase in the base cost of wholesale power paid to Chugach Electric Association. MEA purchases almost all of its power needs from Anchorage-based Chugach under a contract that expires at the end of 2014. FBI Warns of New Fraudulent Credit Card Scheme »Kevin C. Donovan, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the FBI, State of Alaska, advises that Alaskans may be targeted for a new variation of a fraudulent scheme concerning credit cards. Under this new scheme, victims receive a text message on their cell phones stating their cards had been de-activated and to call a 907 area code number to re-activate.
